Pace
The PACE approach is a trauma-informed therapeutic framework. It help's caregivers build safe, trusting relationships with children who have experienced trauma. PACE stands for Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy, and the training focuses on these principles to foster emotional connection, reduce challenging behaviours, and promote a sense of security in children within foster, kinship, and adoptive care settings.
Emotion Coaching
Emotion Coaching uses moments of heightened emotion and resulting behaviour to guide and teach the child and young person about more effective responses. Through empathetic engagement the child's emotional state is verbally acknowledged and validated, promoting a sense of security and feeling 'felt'. This activates changes in the child's neurological system and allows the child to calm down, physiologically and psychologically.
Solihull Approach
The Solihull Approach is about emotional health and wellbeing for all children, their parents, carers and grandparents. Being passionate about sensitive relationships, early years support and understanding brain development to help nurture kind, emotionally aware children as they grow.
Scripted Interventions
A "scripted intervention" is a predetermined, step-by-step plan for having a brief, focused conversation with someone who is exhibiting challenging behaviour, such as a student refusing to work. The script guides the facilitator on how to start the conversation, deliver a clear message, manage the other person's reaction, and withdraw from the interaction with dignity for both parties. Scripted interventions are designed to be efficient, typically lasting around 30 seconds, and aim to de-escalate a situation while reinforcing boundaries and maintaining relationships.
Classroom Culture
Classroom Culture a classroom way of life that helps educators establish a positive, supportive, and effective learning environment by focusing on key principles like consistent care, clear expectations, and consistent routines. The goal is to improve student outcomes by fostering respectful relationships, handling behaviour with restorative practices, and creating a cohesive school-wide culture.
