Working Together to Help Children Go to School (Multi-Agency Collaboration)

Sometimes, a child misses school a lot and needs extra help. When this happens, different people and services work together to support the child and their family. This is called multi-agency collaboration.

This means -

  • schools, councils, health services, and sometimes the police or social workers all talk to each other
  • they share information (safely and legally) to understand why the child is missing school
  • they meet with the family to listen and find out what help is needed
  • they make a plan together to help the child go to school more often

This teamwork helps make sure the child gets the right support, whether it’s help with health, family problems, or learning needs.
