Our service is specifically designed to support parent carers of children and young people (aged 0–19) with complex and life limited medical needs who do not currently receive a continuing care package.
How We Support Families
Our Family Welfare Advisors provide free, practical support to help families safely thrive at home, including:
- Navigating Disability Benefits: Expert guidance on completing complex, stressful applications for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payments (PIP).
- Accessing Charitable Grants: Researching and applying for critical funding for essentials not covered by the NHS (such as specialized car seats, P-Pod or specialist seating, sensory toys, or emergency white goods).
- Crisis Support: Providing direct access to Foodbank and Fuel Bank vouchers for families experiencing immediate financial hardship.
- Local Signposting: Connecting families with trusted local networks, peer support, and community services.
