Organisation
Hull Parent Carer Forum
Description

We are the official Parent Carer Forum for Hull.  Run by SEND parents, for SEND parents. We host events, share information and support and provide opportunities to connect with other parents and carers in the same position

We facilitate parents to have a voice, gather feedback and work with decision makers to improve services we all use or need to access.

We host a friendly Facebook private group, a safe space to ask any questions and share tips and advice.

Pop along to Breakfast Club, Lunch Club or Coffee and Chat sessions. Meet other parents, enjoy a meal and refreshments, chat to visiting professionals and learn about what’s on offer for your child in Hull. We also provide training, workshops and online seminars to parents and carers to learn how best to support and advocate for our families. https://www.hullparentcarerforum.co.uk/events

Who can become a member?

We are open to any parent carer with a child/young person with any special need or disability aged 0-25 in Hull. Your child does not need a diagnosis to join. Even if you have questions and concerns but have had no formal diagnosis or you are waiting on a list, get in touch.

Members must have a Hull GP or a Hull PostCode to join and access our events and opportunities. We welcome any parent or carer, grandparent, foster carer or sibling carer. Anyone with caring responsibilities of a young person with (or suspected) SEND 0-25. Open to all, no referral needed. Professionals or existing members can contact us to introduce a new parent carer to us.

The best way to contact is via email at info@hullparentcarerforum.co.uk. You can also call us however this phone is not always manned. You can also message us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Hullparentcarerforum

Visit our Website for further information, news and events.

We are all fellow parent carers and neurodivergent ourselves so we get it! If you are unsure or nervous about joining, contact us as we can send further information or meet you outside first or just have a chat and introduce ourselves and explain things. We are a friendly and inclusive bunch and you can be involved as much or as little as you like.

 Parent member quote

“Hull Parent Carer Forum have helped me access information, ideas, support and friendships with other SEN parent/carers who understand our challenges”

Padlet

We have created a resource and information Padlet for parents, carers and practitioners.

This Padlet is an interactive "notice board" where information and links can be added for people to view.

The aim of this Padlet is to have access to useful links, information and strategies to help understand and support disabled and neurodivergent children and young people and their families.
