Calling all professionals - Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme consultation.
The programme, though aimed at children in receipt of benefits related free school meals (FSM) is not exclusively for them. The Department for Education encourages local authorities to use up to 15% of their funding to provide free or subsidised holiday club places for children who are not in receipt of benefits related free school meals but who the local authority believe could benefit from HAF.
In Hull the HAF programme is delivered as the Healthy Holidays Hull Programme. A decision was made by us to make it an open access programme for all children and young people living in the city.
The Government has committed to a further 3 years funding for the programme nationally until March 2029. As a result the Healthy Holidays Hull team are conducting a review of the programme and carrying out a consultation on the programme to speak to a wide range of people including -
- professionals
- providers on the programme
- schools
- parents and carers
- children and young people
to get their views on the programme to see how we can build on the success of the last 5 years.
We would appreciate it if you could take a few moments to complete the below questionnaire to gain some insight and feedback on the programme.
