Over a hundred specialist places have been created within mainstream schools with further ‘Resource base’ and ‘SEND units’ in active development. In this endeavour, the council’s major projects team have been key allies, sharing our passion for the development of inclusive, high quality learning environments. Increased investment in SEND Outreach services means that in September 2025, all mainstream schools in the city will benefit from specialist oversight to meet the needs of their children.
