We are sharing a further update on how we are improving support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We are sharing a further update on how we are improving support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We are continuing to develop our local plans and want to keep you informed and involved.

What is happening nationally?

The government is making changes to improve SEND support across the country.

These changes aim to:

  • make support easier to understand
  • help children get the right help sooner
  • make services work better together

These changes are still being planned.

What we are doing locally

In our area, we are working with schools, health services, and other partners to improve support.

We are focusing on:

  • Spotting children’s needs early
  • Making support work well in all schools
  • Improving how we talk and listen to families
  • Helping services work together as one team

We are creating a local plan to explain how we will do this.

Tell us what you think

We want to hear from parents and carers.

We have a short survey where you can share your views. Your ideas will help us make services better.

Take the survey here: SEND Reform Parent and Carer
The survey closes on Monday 15 June.
