Keeping the Hull SEND Local Offer accurate and up to date

For more than ten years, I have had the privilege of managing the Hull SEND Local Offer. Throughout this time, my focus has remained the same: ensuring the website is accurate, up to date, and genuinely useful for children and young people with SEND, their families, and the professionals who support them. The SEND landscape evolves constantly, and maintaining a Local Offer that reflects those changes is something I take very seriously.

A New Approach to Quality and Accountability

This year, we have introduced a new way of ensuring the highest possible standard of information. Each area of the Local Offer now has -

• a named accountable person
• an allocated review month

During their review month, colleagues check their information, send through updates, and confirm its accuracy. I then share these updates with the SEND Delivery Group. Information is refreshed internally, on the Local Offer website, and across our social media channels.

This approach not only strengthens the accuracy of the site but also raises the profile of the Hull SEND Local Offer across services. It helps keep it at the forefront of everyone’s thinking and reinforces our shared responsibility to ensure the information we provide remains current and reflective of the needs of children, young people, and their families.

• all other areas remain accurate and up to date
