- Description
-
We are a Parent Peer support group for parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Our group is also for those who might be concerned about their child's development; your child doesn't need a diagnosis to join us.
We are a friendly, supportive, and relaxed group, where people share their experiences and learn from each other. The group is run by Parents and supported by The Early Years Access and Inclusion Team (Hull City Council).
At our Peer Support groups, we -
- provide a listening ear
- share advice and experiences
- signpost to different services
- explain the roles of SEND professionals
- provide emotional and moral support
- help families feel more confident
- provide an opportunity to ask questions without judgement
- offer a chance to sit back and relax with a hot drink
- show families that they are not alone
