New in City
If your child or young person has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or is currently undergoing an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA), you and your current local authority will need to inform the Statutory SEND Assessment and Review Team as soon as practicable.
Once we are notified of your intention to move into the area, or you have already moved into the area, the team will be able to assist you with next steps.
We will discuss your preference with you as to whether you wish for your child or young person to remain at their current setting. Where that is not practical, we will consider a setting that will be asked to admit your child on a temporary basis until an annual review can be held.
Under Section 9.159 of the SEND Code of Practice, we must place a child or young person at an appropriate educational institution other than the one that is specified on their EHCP if their attendance at the named setting would be impractical.
